My favorite bean burrito crockpot/stove recipe

Beef and Bean Burritos
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1/2 lb. lean ground beef, cooked and drained
  • 1-2 T. taco seasoning
  • 1 heaping tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 c. salsa
  1. Combine all ingredients and either warm on stovetop or keep in crockpot on low for 2-3 hours.  Serve in tortillas with desired toppings.
These are so kid-friendly even my 1 year old was eating them!  The brown sugar just adds a touch of sweet to offset the spice.  You can definitely forgo the sugar altogether if you'd prefer.  But we really enjoy this burrito filling.  Very versatile, easy, and tasty.

This sounds really good and fast and easy. I don't really usually like refried beans but the fact it has some brown sugar in them might make it super doable.

Also, I have a very picky 19 month old. Not only is she picky but she also has a developmental delay with gag reflex associated with what she touches with her fingers/palm. I think it would be very good for her to try this and touch this and put it in her mouth and it be tasty.

Thank you for this recipe.

Made this tonight. I used a full pound of hamburger meat though and doubled the brown sugar. I added a little bit of water with the taco seasoning. It was very very tasty. I loved it. I don't eat burritos. But I will make this again and it's a keeper.

Happy to report we tried these and loved them.
I used 1/4 pound meat, 1 T seasoning, and 2 T. brown sugar. Next time I'll try just 1 T. brown sugar but the good news is there will be a next time. These were really easy and delicious, esp. with a fresh tortilla hot of the pan.
